Aribert Reimann: Lear

On July 9, 1978, Aribert Reimann’s opera Lear was premiered at the National Theatre. Claus H. Henneberg wrote the libretto based on Shakespeare’s drama of the same name, Gerd Albrecht was the musical director, and Jean-Pierre Ponnelle directed.
